High School Intern Testimonial My name is Tamia Hackworth, and I’m currently a high school intern. I’ve been at the firm for almost a year, about eleven months. I enjoy being able to comfortably speak with all the attorneys and paralegals and all the executive staff here. As a high school intern, it feels like you’re very low on the total hull, but everyone makes sure you’re comfortable and you’re able to speak to anyone. I really appreciate the family environment the firm has to offer. Also, I appreciate how everyone in the firm is very hard-working. No one is lazy. No one just doesn’t have work to do. Everyone’s constantly busy, and I just admire that. The most valuable thing I’ve learned is that if you’re going to do something, make sure it’s your best work. And to always be confident and your work and how you speak and anything presents because it’s your brand. One of my proudest accomplishments was when I started working with the marketing department and I was able to curate some polls for the social media sites, like their accounts like Twitter and Facebook and it was very cool to see my polls to actually get published. My advice is to take advantage for everything the firm has to offer. Talk to everyone. Get to know your colleagues, because everyone has such a wealth of knowledge to bring to the table. And to have fun.

Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C High School Intern Testimonial My name is Sharon Eruthickal and I’m a high school intern here at ALB P.C.. I started here at the beginning of July, this summer, so it’s a small amount of time. I really like how all the employees built a really good working environment here. It’s very casual, but at the same time, I can see all the dedication and hard work despite being pressured and stressed in this job. I really like how everyone’s very open and you can really ask questions if you’re confused. You don’t have to feel bad about it. I think it offers a really good job experience, like even if you’re not coming in for a law degree or anything, you get a real account of professional work, and I think it was a great experience for me as a high school, because it’s not an opportunity you get very frequently. So it was good to see that as a first time experience. The most valuable thing I learned was the sense of independence, but also team work. Seeing as this is my first job, this has taught me a lot to go out on my own and experience work life. Here, no one does anything on their own. We all rely on each other, and it’s nice to know we can work officially together, and not have all the work burdened on the shoulders of one person. I talked a lot with the interns and paralegals here and I’m proud to help contribute to some of the important cases or trials. My advice is that if you get this opportunity, definitely take it. It’s not something you come by very often, and if you’re going for law, I think this will be a great opportunity to get a first hand experience of how to work in a law firm, and what everyone does here. And even if your future goal is not to go into law, I think it’ll be a good experience to have. You learn a lot of valuable lessons you can take throughout your life and careers.

High School Intern Testimonial My name is Edwin George, and I have been an intern at ALB for the last ten months or so. What I enjoy the most is that I’m always busy. I always have something to do. I’m not the type of person to sit around, not doing anything. I’m always busy and on the go. This firm definitely has a fun, family environment, where everyone gets along pretty well and as soon as you walk in through the door, people are greeting you with a big smile on your face and they’re all just really friendly. Of course, for the high performing high school interns, the firm does offer scholarships towards your college application. One of the most valuable things that I’ve learned is how to be flexible and most definitely how to not be quick to say no, but say I can’t help you right now but if you come back in a few minutes, I can help you. My proudest accomplishment is being able to become an essential part of the company—performing my daily tasks with ease and just being able to work with everybody and just be essential to the company. For any future interns or associates, I would just recommend that you would be ready to work. This is not the environment that you come and you think you have some time off. You always have something to do, you have to be ready to work. And that’s just everyday. That’s every minute of today.

High School Intern Testimonial My name is Andrea, and I’m a high school intern. I’ve been working here for eight months. What I enjoy the most is being able to learn something new everyday, working so close with the attorneys, you learn what they go by every single night. This firm is different by offering the opportunity to work with the attorneys in your everyday life, and how they solve problems if anything comes up. I work with the transactional group, so I do a lot of welcome packages, invoices. I think I’m most proud of just being able to learn everything so quickly, and just being able to help the attorneys and get everything they need done. My advice for future interns is to really pay attention and listen to all the directions they give you, and get everything done.

Melissa Wilson, High School Intern Testimonial I: Hi, can you please introduce yourself? M: I’m Melissa Wilson. I’m from Milford, New Jersey and I go to Milford High School. I: And what are your goals career-wise, though? M: As of right now, I’m still weighing out my options to really figure out what I’m really passionate about. I have a bunch of different ideas, but I haven’t narrowed it down to anything more specific. I: And can you tell us what your affiliation with Adam Leitman Bailey is? M: Adam Leitman Bailey went to Milford High School, as I do, and he offers an internship for a student there. I: And what role did you play here at ALB, PC? M: I did some administrative work helping with the client lists and I also did creative work with Annabelle Tasker, with holiday lists and such and helping work on some of the website. I: Did you get the experience you wanted out of this internship? M: Yes, I did. I really, really enjoyed working here. It helped me grow a lot and do things more on my own and rely more on myself as opposed to always asking what I should do. I: And what was your experience like? Can you go in-depth about how your experience was working with Annabelle, or working on the website, or the creative work that you did working on the holiday packages for the clients? M: It was very interesting. I didn’t know what to expect when I came here. They were very open and they taught me what I should do and how to do it, and they let me also have my creative side and were open to my ideas as well. I: Which tasks did you enjoy here at ALBPC the most? M: I really enjoyed working with everybody. Everybody here was wonderful to work with and they took their time to teach you everything. And it was fun. It was work, and you had to work hard, but I really enjoyed everything. I: Do you think this is going to give you a leverage from other high school students that are going to go to college? M: I would think so. But I think if they work hard, they get the opportunities. I: Did you get to work with Adam directly while you were interning here? M: Yes I did. I got to sit in Adam’s office as I worked, and I got to experience what it was like and how he worked and such; and I also had to work with him for the holiday packages and some things with the website as well. I: And can you tell us a little bit about something that you learned here that you think that you will take with you in your life and that will help you in your career? M: I learned that I can trust myself with what I am doing and that I don’t have to rely on everybody else. And I know what I am doing and I can trust myself with it. I: That’s great. Can you tell us what your most memorable moment here was? M: My most memorable moment was when I first came here and everybody was just so friendly and everybody introduced themselves and made it very welcoming and easy to fit right in. Everybody seemed interested and they just seemed very warm and kind. I: And can you tell us the top three skills that you learned while working here? They could be personal skills or they could be skills that you already had, but that you enhanced while you were interning here. M: The top three skills that I gained while being here were my organizational skills; I have became more independent, and my creative side has also expanded. I: Do you have any comments for future interns or about working here in general? M: For future interns, I recommend definitely work to the best of your ability, and to speak out and say what you’re thinking. Don’t be afraid or hold back. They value everybody’s opinion and they want you to be heard. It could be used. And they should work to the best, best of their ability. They give you that opportunity and they give you more privileges to let you expand and let you grow and such. I: And do you feel that you are going to walk out of here more confident and more capable than when you first walked in? M: Yes, I do. I: Thank you, Melissa.

Mr. Bailey addressed over 1,000 students ages 13-18, and later in the day spoke at the district's Elementary School. This rally kicked off a district-wide campaign called the Secaucus Public Schools Anti-Bullying Campaign. What has been your experience with Adam Leitman Bailey? To start with, it has all been a very good experience. When you are faced with your troubles, how did Adam Leitman Bailey helped you with your situation? In any way, anyone could ever help anyone. That's how he helped me. He is very helpful. Next thing I knew there was an eviction notice on my door and I almost fainted because I was so scared. Did he serve you as a pro bono attorney? Yes. Out of the kindness of his heart, he came and helped you retain your apartment? He was wonderful. I have no words to thank him. I have no words to describe how wonderful he is...he is a very wonderful gentlemen and I heard so much about him...and it was all good. I would read about him in the papers about his work.

I had gone looking for an apartment and I had gone to a Real Estate agent and I paid a down payment for an attic apartment...just before I was suppose to move in I requested that I look at the apartment and when I got there it was a total disaster and I requested my money back and I was told flatly No. Adam Leitman Bailey reassured me of hope even though I had no receipt, I had just my testimony what I recollected on what happened and I was also given a new lawyer Donald Mitchell to help me and to assist me. He was really really kind and listened. He was a really good listener. He went through all the details that I was willing to share with him and what happened and we had a case. We had a great victory!! The judge was in favor of our side. All the facts were presented and Adam Bailey and his team diligently pursued like...behind the scenes all the hidden things that were considered evidence and in the courtroom everything was like presented very well and the judge was in total favor of Adam Bailey. Donald Mitchell was really kind, he was a good listener and he presented the little details that I had and with that he went through probably about three pages of information. He put together everything very well. He was kind. He showed up in the courtroom on time even though it was night court and he was just really really kind. Thank you very much Donald Mitchell. Adam Bailey reassured me of hope when I felt hopeless...his wisdom...his insight...his understanding and his knowledge tackled this injustice and when it was all over we were awarded a great victory.
